About Shorts Not Pants - Short Film Festival
We like it short. And since 2012, Shorts Not Pants is a Toronto short film festival that showcases the best in short films from around the world, bringing together fans and filmmakers alike. Founded by local film blogger James McNally (Toronto Screen Shots) Shorts That Are Not Pants was born and since December 2009 he was showing a program of shorts in his apartment to a small group of friends. Several other editions followed, and it was time to share the wealth of short film talent with the rest of the city. In January 2012, Shorts That Are Not Pants kicked off a quarterly celebration of short films, and since 2018, and now known as Shorts Not Pants, has been an annual festival held each November in Toronto, Canada with special events throughout the year. Shorts Not Pants brings a curated program of short films that we promise will entertain and inspire.
Shorts Not Pants is a diverse not-for-profit organization dedicated to advancing the appreciation, creation and exhibition of short films. Our mandate supports film development and programs, panel discussions, workshops and mentoring with filmmakers.
Everyone is welcome, regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or physical/mental ability.
